Chapter 26 # 47 -"My traitor will be Juda Ihariot, the son of Simeon the Pharisee, because he is only interested in gold , silver , goods , and chattels." # 48- "He will betray me for 30 peices of silver , because he is misled by his father's greed." # 49- " But this joy in the peices of silver will not last long, because he is fickle and unstable and will soon feel guilty." - Jmmanuel My own obsevation : Judas Iscarioth was Jmmanuel's right arm man . Definitively , the most loyal of all the Deciples. He was the only one who was educated to read and write , and not likely to suffer from doubt , uncertainty , and psychological weakness . The similarity in the two men's names were close enough to encourage the Pharisees to take advantage of the group's hour of trouble , and twist the truth into the widespread lie that the man known as "jesus" (Jmmanuel) was betrayed by one of his own . This was designed to weaken the credibility of Jmmanuel and his teachings.
